Live Is All You Need - Bryan #4

This time round I've gone for a whole comp of live stuff. It's like a fantasy festival! At Home! Just put it on, get wrecked on cheap cider, fill a beaker full of piss and throw it over your shoulder because you can't be arsed to go to the loos. Invite a drug dealer over to rip you off at knife point, lose your friends and wake up in the garden the following morning to find that you've messed yerself!

Chris #1 - My Log Saw Something That Night

Hi, I'm new here.  This is a compilation I made to soundtrack a particularly grueling drive to Dundee, turns out most of it was too subtle to really be heard over the engine.  Never mind.  So when Ben introduced me to this blog I gave it a second life. It's all from 7 inches and recorded straight to drive.  Mostly pretty downkey, a bit wimpy guitary, a bit psychy, a bit folky; good for listening to on headphones late on.  Not in a van on the M1.

1// Eric Matthews - Fanfare
2// The Clientele - (I Want You) More Than Ever
3// Joan As Policewoman - Christobel
4// Delicate Awol - Canford Heights
5// Gorky's Zygotic Mynci - Gwen Ni Gorffen
6// The Maladies of Bellafontaine - Longsocks
7// Broadcast - Tender Buttons
8// Simon Dupree and the Big Sound - Kites
9// Espers - Riding
10// Julee Cruise - Falling
11// The Concretes - On the Radio (Off the Radio)
12// Low - Venus
13// Galaxie 500 - Blue Thunder
14// Scout Niblett - Your Beat Kicks Back Like Death
15// C Joynes - Night Over Djerba
16// Taken By Trees - Watch the Waves
17// Múm - Marmalade Fires
18// Dean & Britta - White Horses

Bryan #3 - Glam Bang!

Howdy! This time round, I've gone for a themed comp. I fancied a round-up of some boot-stomping Glam, but to do a comprehensive Glam comp, you'd have to include The Sweet and all of that kind of bollocks, so the playlist isn't exactly strict, stuff like Big Star and The Flamin' Groovies are on here because the songs just fit in. The band Jet on this comp are not the awful Aussie rockers from a few years back, but a 70s namesake, and the cover is of Julia Davis in the spoof Glam band Ryc Spangle doing 'Playground Bangaround' from the Brass Eye paedo special. Which reminds me - Gary Glitter was out of bounds for this collection, despite how much I love 'Rock and Roll Part 1'! Someone needs to do a storming cover of that so the song can be listened to again.

01 Hear Me Calling - Slade
02 John, I'm Only Dancing - David Bowie
03 Chatterbox - The New York Dolls
04 Teenage Head - The Flamin' Groovies
05 Whizz Kid - Mott the Hoople
06 Hasta Manana, Monsieur - Sparks
07 White Punks on Dope - The Tubes
08 Billy Porter - Mick Ronson
09 Editions of You - Roxy Music
10 Beyond the Law - Iggy Pop & James Williamson
11 Don't Lie to Me - Big Star
12 Cosmic Dancer - T-Rex
13 Is It My Body? - Alice Cooper
14 I Can't Stand It - Lou Reed
15 World Without End - Jobriath
16 Queens of Noise - The Runaways
17 Nothing To Do With Us - Jet
18 Heavy Metal Kids - Todd Rundgren
